Q: What is the equilivent Mercedes to the BMW 7 series?

A: MB equivalent to BMW 7-series is the S-class, while E-class is the equivalent to the 5-series, and C-class is the equivalent to the 3-class. AMG is the MB equivalent to the M of BMW. The 2 main independent tuners of MB and BMW are Brabus (MB) and Alpina (BMW). In MB model the letter means the class and the numbers the engine, so an E320 is E-class with 3.2L engine or S550 is S-class with 5.5L engine. In BMW the first number is the series and the last 2 are the engine, so 540 is 5 series with 4.0L engine or 528 is 5 series with 2.8L engine. Also if the car has 4-matic (MB) and X (BMW ex 530xi) then the vehicle is equipped with 4 wheel drive.

A: 1) park your car directly under the garage door opener inside the garage

2) push the two outside buttons till you see the red light blink or till a yellow light appears, either way the system is clean

3) Put the garage door opener remote as close to the universal radio transmitter (those three buttons on the bottom of your rearview mirror) and push the garage door opener as well as the first button and hold those two buttons down till the red light flashes again.

4) push the first button and open and close the garage door.

Q: Does a BMW 7 series have the same size seats as a 5 series?
I’m geting rid of my old BMW 740i and I like a BMW 525i. Only problem is it that it has a cloth interior rather than a leather. Could I fit my 7 series seats into the 5 series? Help!

A: I think the 7 Series is going to have bigger seats. If you look at the difference in the passenger volume between the 2007 750LI and the 2007 550i there is over 10 cubic feet difference. I think some of that space is used for larger seats and more leg and head room too.

Q: How much would a 1992 7 series BMW sell for?
I may be able to get a 1992 7 series BMW fixed, looking nice inside and out, but would it be worth it, or should I just sell it to a junkyard? How much would this sell for?
I don’t know how much i am selling it for, and i don’t have pictures yet. I’m in the US, in Florida more specifically.

A: Maybe a few grand depending on the condition, without seeing it it’s hard to say. I would suggest having it appraised by someone you know or someone you know of.

A: personally, i would just wait for the new 5 series and get that. I know the facelife 7 series just came out, but the new 5 series should be goood. Or u could get a 6 series,wow they are cool. 7 series seriously i perfer the s class. But again it is ur choice, it’s a lot of money so think carefully and it should be what u like not what everyone else likes

Hi. I just bought a BMW 135i Convertible. Where can I find cheap car insurance for this car? I’ve checked the major ones like Geico but the quotes they list out are pretty expensive in my opinion.

A: HUGE difference between a 7 series and a 1 series. Why didn’t you just spend a couple thousand more and get the 3 series? The 3 series always gets great reviews. The 7 series has had mechanical problems for years.

Anyway, how do you buy a BMW and go cheap on insurance? They aren’t cheap cars. USAA has the best rates and service, period. If you can’t get it (it’s an exclusive company) then I would check out Progressive. Shop around. Most places will give you free quotes.

A: 1 Series = smallest + cheapest
3 Series = smaller + more expensive
5 Series = midsize + even more expensive
and so on…

1 Series: Sub-compact hatchback which is currently sold only in Europe. It’s a tiny little commuter car with your base BMW features. It’s also pretty low on luxury. Cheapest BMW to purchase.

3 Series: Compact-Midsize sedan. BMW’s bread-and-butter vehicle. Awesome handling, four doors and is a competitor with the Lexus IS, Acura TL, Audi A4 and Infiniti G35, among others. Turbocharged engine that makes 300 hp is an option. Price starts reasonably in the mid-30s but gets really high with all those options like navigation and sport package.

5 Series: Midsize sedan which is competitor to Merc E-Class, Audi A6, Infiniti M and Lexus GS. This is for people who want BMW handling + functionality. Base engines puts out 215 hp, but more expensive models like the 550i make 360 hp. Luxurious interior, but once again, is extremely pricey if you add those options.

6 Series: Full-size luxury coupe or convertible, starts in the mid-70s for the coupe and low-80s for the convertible. Navigation and all those creature comforts are standard as well as a 360 hp engine. Is a competitor to Merc CLK and SL, Lexus SC and Cadillac XLR.

7 Series: BMW’s largest sedan and flagship model. Long-wheelbase is optional, and standard leather is Nasca leather. Wood trim varies with trim. Competes with Lexus LS, Maserati Quattroporte, Merc S-Class and Audi A8. Most expensive model is 760Li which boasts around 490 hp and is gargantun.

Z4: Performance convertible. Has only two seats and competes with Merc SLK. Very small and is successor to the Z3.

M models: Performance variations on the line. Akin to Merc’s AMG division, Audi’s S and Lexus F.

X3 and X5: “SAV”s. X3 is compact and X5 is midsize. X5 offers a thrid row seat this year. Base engine is 260 hp and upmodel 4.8i boast 350 hp engine.

I personally prefer the S Class. Hopefully one day I’d have one.

A: I would take the 7 series, and it isn’t difficult to drive or understand, unless you’ve spent your life under a rock. The S class will always be the pinnacle for future cars, they are always decked out with new technology, and are one of the most respected Mercs out there. However, I like the 7 series more, based on reviews alone, as I’ve never driven one. However, I have owned an e36 3 series, and I currenlty own a 2000 M5, which is almost as large, and roomy, as the 7 series. I have also driven a 540i. If the 7 series is even half as comfortable and luxurious, the 7 series would be my choice, hands down. As for maintenece, any time you get a luxury sedan from Germany, it is going to cost more to maintain than a cavalier, which is expected.

Q: can a 7 series bmw be converted to a manual transmission and who would you go to, to get it done.?
i am curious if a 7 series bmw(like a “96 740) can be converted to a manual trasmission. if it can what transmission should be used, where do you get it, and how can you get it done? will the manual transmission from like a 540i or an M5 work?

A: I am no mechanic and don’t know the technical specification.. but still it seems a little absurd to me.
If you already have the car… well sell it and get yourself a M5 of a similar price.
If you haven’t acquired it yet…. well don’t
Get the car as it came from the factory, seems really irrational to convert a car in which so much technology has been invested to make it a perfect automatic car… for a manual made by some car shop. My advice: Don’t throw your money to the garbage.

Q: what is the cost of a bmw 7 series engine ?
im talking about this one the “BMW N74″ which is the one used in the new bmw 760, what is the cost of the engine only, not the car ?

A: I just recently called BMW to find that out. The V12 is $22,500 in Southern California, I suppose prices may (probably not though) slightly vary. Should be the right engine but you might want to reconfirm with your local dealer.
