What is the estimated total cost to change a 2009 BMW 328 rear bumper?

A: It would be roughly $400. for the primed bumper cover, $150 to 400.
for painting (price depends on who does it), and r&r bumper would be at least 2 hours labor.
Of course prices vary by location and dealer or repair shop.
Pls. note that the above is for the bumper cover only.

Q: How do you lift the backseat up of a 2009 BMW 328 i?
Is there a way to lift the backseat up or a way to get under the seat of a 2009 BMW 328 i?

A: you will have to take it out if ur trying to install an amplifier a place in the trunk is already made for that right where a spare tire would go in other cars there is a plastic box remove and you got you have a nice space for an amp that comes with the HiFi sound system other than that you can only fold the back of seats down and if you have leather seats i wouldn’t recommend you disassembling the seats your gonna end up with scratched leather which is quite expensive

Q: Is a Toyota Matrix Type S is faster than a BMW 328 xi?
Because I’m trying to prove my friend that a Toyota Matrix Type S is not faster than a BMW 328 xi.

A: any thing named toyota is a stove bmw is a car a real car so its stove against car

Q: how do you set the factory alarm on a bmw 328 i 1997?
I have the key from bmw that has the logo on it that is also a button. How do you set it?

A: unfortunately from 1995 on up BMW requires that you get the key programmed at the dealership in order for it to work the ignition.

Q: BMW 328 1998 heavily shakes sometime when on high way, what could be the problem?
It shakes as if something is going to fall apart. It looks very dangerous. Showed to the mechanic and he says nothing is wrong with it. Any one has any such problem or any ideas? It has new tires which were replaced to correctly the problem but did not do much. The shakes appears on high speeds lets say once in 50 miles drive. It also wobbles at +60mph not all the time though.Any ideas will be appreciated. The car is otherwise in fine running condition.

A: Take it to a different mechanic! Check bimrs.org to find a good independent BMW mechanic near you.

There are a myriad of possibilities:

Bent wheels
Blown shock absorber(s)
Failed suspension bushing(s)
Ball joint failure
Broken rear differential mount
etc, etc.

It’s also possible that your new tyres were not balanced properly, or one has a defect, such as a slipped internal belt.

Long story short, get it to a competent mechanic; there are too many potential causes for specific diagnosis without seeing and/or driving the car.

Q: I have a 2007 BMW 328 Convertible, brake job help please?
I have a 2007 BMW 328 Convertible, It needs rear brake pads.I do have a source where I can get genuine BMW pads.can I take the pads to any mechanic or does it require special tool where i can only take it to the dealership?

A: It does not require special tools, and a dealership will charge some outrageous price, you can probably do it yourself or have friend help you out. Take it to an independent shop, although they might not give you a warranty on the work due to you supplying the parts, a dealership most likely wouldn’t either.

Q: How much did you pay for your 2007 BMW 328 i ?
What city did you buy it from. List options. Satisfied? How are the run flat tires? I heard some people hate it. I am shopping for a new car. Thanks.

A: I’ve had mine a month so far. It’s amazing. I’ve owned nice cars before, but this really takes the cake. It is a wonderful drive, and if you ever get it on a twisty country road it comes alive!

I purchased it in East Tennessee and paid $1,500 under MRSP for it.

I got the 328i Sedan, with Automatic (205), Premium Package (ZPP), Electric Seats (459), BMW Assist (639), HID Headlights (522), Gray Leather seats, Heated seats (494), Titanium Metalic Silver (354).

With BMW unless you are super rich, you really have to be careful to pick the right options. Options are not cheap with BMW, so you better pick what you really really want, not just random stuff you don’t need.

For me I like silver, but would have settled for the non-metallic red exterior for a saving. Automatic is a must since my wife refuses to learn stick. Also I think sticks are pointless in this day and age when autos are so advanced. The sports mode is really fun. The premium package is a must, it really takes the car from a basic BMW to something with a lot more of a luxury feel. Sorry, but I am not going to pay that kind of money for a car and sit on faux leather seats.

The heated seats were just something I wanted, since it can get cold in this area in the winter.

The HID lights were a must for me too. These days halogen lights look so crap. HID gives you that lovely angel eyes look, that just puts the car in another class. They shine around the bends and self level for great night time driving.

I traded an 05 Acura TL to get my BMW, and I really thought that I would miss some of the technology. Weirdly, the BMW has way more. It’s just that Germans tend to hide their technology away a little more and sometimes make it a tad obscure. But it’s there, and it’s impressive.

Satisfied? Hell yeah! It is just a wonderful car to drive. It makes my old Acura look like a stale boring mundane car. This car truly has a soul, unlike many other cars in this price bracket. There’s a reason this car keeps winning award after award.

As far as the run flat tires go, I think that the people who whine about it are probably being a little anal. I have been consistently impressed with the ride, handling and grip of this car. It is the first time I have purchased a rear wheel drive car, and I was worried about driving in the rain. I’ve not yet managed to make my car slip or slide. A combination of an amazing chassis, traction control, good tires, and suspension, along with the almost perfect weight distribution from front to rear, keeps the car balanced and poised at all times.

My biggest concern was the high cost of replacing the tires. So I went to some online auto club and paid $27 for a year of tire insurance. If I run over a nail, they buy me a brand new tire.

In all honesty, there are probably better tires out there, but the concept of run flat is a really nice touch, and I personally like it. For normal drivers as opposed to car snobs, the run flat is a great idea.

If you are shopping for a new car, I really suggest you buy one of these cars. I’ve never had a car where the novelty and excitement of ownership has extended beyond the first week. I still drive the long way to work, and I’ve had the car a month!

I suggest you check out some links. The first is to price the car with options. Go to the official BMW web site and try and learn what options you truly want, and what you can really live without. Then price the car on KBB so that when you start to negotiate your deal you will know their invoice cost. Remember never to pay any arrogant dealer mark ups like ‘dealer prep.’

Next check out a good forum and see what people are saying. Remember that some comments are idiotic, but on the whole there is some good advice available on here.

The 2008 model is set to be 2-4% more expensive, but the only real difference is a different wheel design, and chrome tips on the exhaust (worth $50). Personally, I’d rather try to take advantage of the fact that dealers are looking to clear out their stock to make room for the ‘08 models that will be on their way to the states in the next few weeks.

Good luck, and enjoy that new BMW. I doubt you will regret it.

Q: Is a 2011 BMW 328 xi pretentious for a 26 year old female to drive?
I live in a rural area and i feel as if i get a lot of dirty looks…I work my butt off for this car, Why are people like this ? I am from NY and when I go home to visit people love my new car. Why are country people so judge mental ?

A: Maybe you are the one doing the judging. I think it’s pretentious of you to ask if it is.

Q: how many hp would a open header give to a bmw 328?
i want to go on a track upcoming wednesday, how many hp would give more to the car if i would disconnect headers from the exhaust pipe? and would it get on fire ? i have cold air intake, intake chip, and turbo injectors. thank you all very much!

A: Most likely you would loose horsepower because the car is tuned to run with all pipes attached. Running the car without pipes will make it run bad as if it needed a tune up. You would have to tune the engine to run without pipes and then after the run at the track, when you put the pipes back on it has to be tuned again to run with the pipes.

Q: where can i buy a performance chip for a 2007 bmw 328 coupe?
i want to increase the horspower
thanks.

A: do not go on ebay or buy cheap crap for your BMW as it can mess up your whole car. it’s like going to primark or house of fraser

Check out:
AC Schnitzer
Hartge
Hamann
Eisenmann

Those guys above know what they doing.

Good luck

Q: Which is better between the audi a5 and the bmw 328 and which is better between the audi s5 and the bmw 335?
Which is better in terms of style, sportiness, speed, power, MAINTENANCE, more fun, and is just a better car overall? Please support your answer including all aspects of the vehicles. Thanks!

A: Between the 328i and A5, the A5 is better, more powerful, quicker, faster.

Between the S5 and 335i, I would say the 335i is better.

Sure the S4 has more power and a higher unlimited top speed and a quicker 1/4 mile time.
But the 0-60mph times are the same and the 335i is quicker around a race track by less thn 1 second as proven on the tv show Fifth Gear. It is also much cheaper than S5.

Q: How to open gas tank in a 2008 bmw 328 xi?
i read the book and everything and i can’t find the button or thing to open the gas tank. Theres so many buttons and switchs all over it. Can anyone tell me where the thing is.

A: Just push your gas tank cover..it’s magnetic..so after you push the cover, it’ll like “click” open. But make sure that the car is unlock, if it’s lock, then you’ll won’t be able to unlock the cover. Also when you close it back, make sure you push the cover back down all the way or else it’ll still stick out.

Hope that helps.

Q: Can someone tell me how to reset clock on 2006 bmw 328?
I don’t have a manual, and I’m sure it’s simple but can’t figure it out on my own.

A: On the dashboard, look at the stalk poking out from the right side. The left side stalk is for the odometer.

While the car is parked, turn the key to the first position.

Turning the stalk clockwise advances the time.

Turning the stalk counter-clockwise retards the time.

Pushing in the stalk changes it to 24 hour time. Pulling the stalk out changes it back to 12 hour time.

That’s all there is to it.

Q: How do i check the transmission fluid level on my 2000 bmw 328 ci if it doesn’t have a dipstick?
I’VE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD CAREFULLY AND I DONT SEEM TO FIND ANY DIPSTICK FOR THE TRANSMISSION FLUID… I DONT THINK THAT MY CAR HAS A DIPSTICK BUT OTHER THAN USING A DIPSTICK IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY OF CHECKING?

A: The auto transmission fill plug is located under the car, on the side (near the back corner) of the transmission pan. Don’t confuse this with the DRAIN plug which is at the BOTTOM of the transmission pan.

With the car level, the fluid should be almost dripping out of the fill plug.

Be aware that there’re a bunch of 99/2000 BMWs with auto transmission failure because their owners did not change out the fluid. BMW calls the fluid a “lifetime fill”, but never believe in that kind of bs… failures tend to occur around 100k miles if fluid (and filter) isn’t changed at 60k miles intervals.

See link… particularly page 7.

Q: Where is the oil release screw on a BMW 328 is, 6 cyl?
I like to do an oil change and before I get myself stuck under the car, I thought, maybe some one can point me to the right spot to look for. I don’t want to buy a repair book, just for that.
Appreciate an answer, thanks!

A: DIY instructions for an e46 325i. Should be the same for your engine.
